Endorsements Required for CFII:
Commercial/ATP Endorsements and Prerequisites:
- Commerical or ATP Certification with Instrument Rating.
2. Already a CFI exempt from FOI knowledge test.
☐ Endorsements:
- Aeronautical knowledge (A.42): Certifies the has received the required ground training per 14 CFR 61.185(a)(3) for instrument rating sought.
- Flight Proficiency (A.43): Certifies the applicant has received the required flight instruction per 14 CFR 61.187(b)(7) and is competent to pass the practical test.
- Practical Test Prerequisites (A.1): Certifies the applicant has received and logged training within the 2 calendar months preceding the month of application and is prepared for the test.
- Deficiency Review (A.2): Certification that applicants have demonstrated satisfactory knowledge in any subject areas found deficient on their knowledge test report.
Notes:
1. As a checkride examiner, I will hold CFI’s to a higher standard of professionalism and competency per the FAA. It is important for you to prepare adequate lesson plans and be prepared to teach both during the ground portion and flight portion of the practical test just as you would with a new student. A white board will be made available at KPSK but you may want to carry your own markers.
2. The CFII Add-on may be one of the more enjoyable checkrides. You will fly right seat for most of the maneuvers while teaching, flying, and staying in the PTS limits for each maneuver. The examiner may introduce some incorrect control inputs which you will then provide a correction response.
3. Your homework scenario will be the same Instrument scenario as shown in this section. We will discuss this fully.
