Private Checkride Scenario 126
(If the checkride shown changes after you have started planning you may use the original you started) – Make a Copy!!
PRIVATE SCENARIO (4-Seater). (Two-seat version: no backseat passenger and luggage at 35 lbs).
You and your examiner have an opportunity to attend a FAAST Team presentation on a flying topic at KHEF in Manasas, Virginia on the day of the checkride.
We will depart from the practical test origin airport for the checkride. The arrival airport (KHEF) is inside the SFRA so plan accordingly. I would suggest completing the on-line SFRA course before the practical test.
We will spend from about 2 pm until about 5 pm and then return back before nightfall.
There is a landing fee but it is waived if you are attending this event.
One of your friends also wants to go and is willing to pay his fair share.
Please use FAA Weather Sources published on the day of the checkride.
Plan your flight accordingly
(your weight)
-Your examiner weighs 170 pounds
-Backseat friend weighs 190 pounds
We have 20 pounds of luggage..we will return that night if possible but we are bringing a change of clothes and our toothbrush just in case.
UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED BY EXAMINER, THE DEPARTURE AIRPORT FOR THIS SCENARIO IS THE AIRPORT WHERE THE CHECKRIDE IS CONDUCTED .
Please do a complete flight plan in one direction with weight and balance plus performance measurements for both take-off and landing distances..
Use only a current VFR sectional with checkpoints shown on the sectional. Also, checkpoints should not be towns. More specific identifiable points are recommended such a 4-lane highways, airports, rivers or lakes, or other identiable points on your route. You may use a VOR to help keep you on course but not a GPS. It is important that you demonstrate VFR naviagation by both pilotage and deadreckoning as prescribed by the Private ACS.
The first few checkpoints on your flight plan can be a little closer say 10 to 15 nm and use 5500 MSL initially.
We will discuss on the day we meet.
